Dakshil Patel and Harsh Purohit from Faculty of Commerce bagged the First Runner Up position in Business Plan Presentation Competition in Crest organised by Chimanbhai Patel Institute of Research and Management.

FACULTY OF COMMERCE WON BEST COLLEGE RUNNER-UP AT ‘BAUDDHIKA – ANNUAL INTER-COLLEGE FEST 2k23’

Date: 21st and 22nd February, 2023

Faculty of Commerce won in all 13 trophies, Cash Prize and Best College Runner-up Trophy @ BAUDDHIKA – Annual Inter College Fest organised by SBS, Ahmedabad. Various reputed colleges from all over Gujarat took part in the competition. Students from various institutions competed to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in several Intellectual, Business, Sports, Cultural, Arts and Creativity, Thrilling and Food & Fun Zones such as Poster Presentation on a well researched subject; Youth Parliament; Brand Quiz; Business Plan; Financial Planning; Stock Mind; Box Cricket; Sack Race; Stand Up comedy; Nail Painting; Reel/Meme Creation; Master Chef; and so on. The event provided students with an excellent opportunity to network with industry leaders, receive practical information and showcase their abilities. More than 80 students sportingly participated in the entire two days event. The students were provided guidance by Dr. Krupa Bhatt and Dr. Devyani Chatterji.

WINNER OF STATE LEVEL COMMERCE IDOL CHAMPIONSHIP

Date: 17th February, 2023.

Abhay Bhatt from Faculty of Commerce brings glory to the college by winning State Level Commerce Idol Championship organised by City C.U. Shah Commerce College. Competition was having different rounds like Objectives exam, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Students from all over state participated in the competition in huge number. Abhay Bhatt Stood 1st in the competition and won Trophy and Certificate. Abhay Bhatt was trained and mentored by Dr. Bhavin Bhatt for this competition.

WINNER OF OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY AT MONETA 2022-23

Date: 17th to 21st January, 2023

Faculty of Commerce, GLS University won total 12 prizes & OVERALL CHAMPION Trophy @ Moneta National Level Inter Collegiate Financial Market Event organised by R.A. Podar college of Commerce at Mumbai from 17th to 21st January, 2023. Various reputed colleges from Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa etc. took part in the competition. Students from various institutions competed to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in several financial fields such as stock market analysis, portfolio management, financial planning, policies, production, marketing, research, and so on. The event provided students with an excellent opportunity to network with industry leaders, receive practical information, and showcase their abilities. The winning team was presented with a trophy in recognition of their accomplishment. The event was coordinated by Dr. Krupa Bhatt and Dr. Jaimin Patel.

Date: 3rd and 4th February, 2023

Faculty of Commerce participated in ‘Image 2023’ organized by the GLS (J P Shah) Institute of Business Administration [GLS BBA]. Students participated in various events such as Inventopreneur, Leading Edge, Commercial Chaos, Money Ball, HR 360 and many more. Our students secured the Second Podium in Inventoprenuer in which Sumit Kotadiya, Daksh Chansouriya, Siya Joshi, Abhay Bhatt & Aman Khanna participated and won prize money of Rs.10,000. The second podium in Leading Edge was won by Abhay Bhatt with prize money of Rs.5000. Pratham Asodariya , Trupal Patel, Padmanabh Chavda and Heet Doshi secured the second podium in Commercial Chaos with the prize money of Rs.10,000.

Jay Rochwani, Winner at UTR in singles event at Hyderabad. He is also runner up at AITA CS -7 under 18 doubles at Amritsar, and Guwahati. He has the best AITA ranking 150 in under 18.

SHINING STARS OF FACULTY OF COMMERCE SMPIC

Our student Vani Chopra cleared CIMA level-2 in the first attempt and secured All India 3rd Rank.
Our student Yash Choksi (Batch 2020) secured AIR 46 at CA Intermediate Level and AIR 35 at CA Final Level.

Our student Riya shah appeared for both groups of CA Intermediate in which she secured AIR 42.

Date: 4th and 5th March, 2022 Our institute participated in ‘COGNIZANCE 2022 – A CHRONONAUTICAL VOYAGE’ (Economics Festival) organized by St. Xaviers College, Ahmedabad. Cognizance 2022 had some wonderful events such as Policy-cipher, Red Nation, Ad mania, NFT Minting, Palter’s Pot, Foragers, Avengers Assemble and Gigglonomics. Our students Abhay Bhatt, Daksh Chaudhary, Mahima Sharma and Arth Trivedi secured the first position in Policy-Cipher and Ad Mania.

Date: 24th and 25th January 2022 Our institute participated in the event ‘Image 2022’ organised by the GLS ( J P Shah ) Institute of Business Administration [GLS BBA]. Image 2022 had some wonderful events such as Inventopreneur, Market Mayhem, Movie Tales, Grid Quest, HR 360 and many more. Students from our institute participated in all the events and even gained a victory. Faculty of Commerce SMPIC secured the First Runners-up in Inventoprenuer in which Sumit Kotadiya, Priyam Sheth and Daksh Chansouriya participated and won prize money of Rs.5000. The second podium in Movie Tales was won by Mahima Sharma and Chanchal Lalwani with prize money of Rs.1000. Mariah Akhunji succeeded in Grid Quest with the prize money of Rs.1000.

WINNER OF ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION BY YUVAK VIKAS TRUST

Our student Mariah Akhunji secured the second position in the Essay Writing competition organized by Yuvak Vikas Trust in which 218 students from 36 colleges participated. She wrote an essay on ‘How would you search for Peace following the path of violence?’

The Award was presented on 11th December, 2019 at Hotel Grand Hyatt in Bangkok, Thailand. The award was received by Ms. Chandani Kapadia, COO, GLS University, Dr. Ashwin Purohit, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Dr. Marzun Jokhi, Vice Principal, Faculty of Commerce. International Brand Consulting Corporation, USA conducted a consumer survey in more than 20 countries of Asia & based on the brand research report, the brands have been selected for the awards.

SHRI I M NANAVATI BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD 2020

GLS University celebrates Research Day in the month of January every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the eminent Lawyer and a great educationalist Late Shri I M Nanavati. The fourth Research Day Celebrations was held on the 18th January 2020.

Our Faculty Member Dr. Devyani A. Chatterji received SHRI I M NANAVATI BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD 2020 for the research paper titled as “An EOQ Model with Exponential Amelioration and Two Parametric Weibull Deterioration” in Commerce category.
SHRI I M NANAVATI BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD 2020 was conferred on Our Faculty Member Dr. Rupa A. Pariyani for the research paper titled as “Naga- Mandala: An Ordeal of Chastity” in Humanities & Arts category.

Debate Competition organized by C. U. Shah Arts College

Adweta Kawad from T.Y. B.Com bagged the Best Speaker’s award in the debate competition organized by C. U. Shah Arts college on 23rd January,2013.

Debate Competition organized by S. V. Arts College Nimesh Kewlani and Priya Pandey won the third prize as a team in the debate completion organized by Sardar Vallabhbhai Arts College on 5^th February, 2013. Elocution Competition organized by Umiya Arts and Commerce College Sumruti Anand won the consolation prize in an Elocution competition organized by Umiya Arts and Commerce College on 24^th January, 2013. Spell Bug 2013 organized by H. L. Institute of Commerce Mitesh Chhabaria won the second prize in the Spell Bug Competition organized on 17^th feb.,2013 at H. L. Institute of Commerce. Nilesh Anchalia, Khyati Mehta participated in the same competition.

MANAGEMENT ACHIEVEMENTS

AMA Workshop

Study Enhancement Workshop at AMA by SMPIC SMPIC organized study enhancement program at AMA on 31^st July 2012 on Branding and Advertising, Self Awareness and Success, Goal setting and Power of positive thinking in which fifty students from the institute participated. Concourse 2012 by H.L.B.B.A. SMPIC team consisting of Isha Samrina, Sagar Pandya, Palak Vyas, Rohanshi Shah, Sumruti Mishra reachedup to the final round in the state level competition of movie making in Concourse 2011 at H.L.B.B.A. Commerce Idol Competition organized by C. U. Shah City Commerce College Sumruti Anand of T.Y. B.com stood first in the Commerce Idol Competition organized by C. U. Shah City Commerce College on 19^th August, 2012. This is the third consecutive year when the college bagged the first prize. “MANEDGE” by J. G. College of Commerce Sumruti Anand bagged the second prize in “MANEDGE” the Presentation competition at J. G. College of Commerce on 21^st January 2013. She made presentation on Swot Analysis.

Vikalap- the case analysis Competition organized by N. R. I. B. A. Vikas Chitlangiya Sem IV and Vishal Chitlangiya SEM IV secured the third position in Vikalap-the case analysis Competition organized by N. R. Institute of Business Administration. Student Exchange Program Zainab Gadhiali SEM IV got selected in Indo Japan student exchange program. Quiz competition in K. K. Jarodwala Science College Adweta kawad and Disha Doshi Secured 5^th position in Quiz competition in K. K. Jarodwala Science College. Winners at SMPIC Narsee Monji Institute of Management Studies(NMIMS-MUMBAI) Vikas Chitlangiya,Vishal Chitlangiya and Monil Shah won 3rd prize at Narsee Monji Institute of Management Studies(NMIMS-MUMBAI) in two national level competitions .1.ad-making(adventure) and 2.Business plan(What an idea sarji).Out of 26 teams from all business schools ,6 teams were short listed in grand finale and SMPIC secured 3rd position against all others management students from SIS-MUMBAI, IIM-INDORE and others. The business plan was based on “Eco Friendly Ethanol” and Ad-Making was about “Youth Empowerment.”
