Faculty of Commerce’s B.Com. (Hons.) is a three-year full-time under-graduate programme leading to the degree of B.Com. (Hons.) with 146 credits and M.Com. Programme.
Faculty of Commerce formerly known as S.M. Patel Institute of Commerce was established in the year 1999. Faculty of Commerce (B.Com Hons.) has been catering to the increasing need of accounting professionals in the growing Indian economy by training and educating its students of B.Com (Honours) Programme. This Under Graduate programme prepares students to become astute business professionals and provides them with the required competitive edge for successful career.
The programme aims at all-round development of the students by delivering prudent mix of conceptual knowledge and real life exposure. The course contents and teaching pedagogy help the students build strong foundations in Accounting, Taxation, Law, Economics, Business Studies and Communication. The students are prepared for taking up toughest challenges of corporate careers and also for pursuing higher studies in more concentrated and specialised areas.

Faculty of Commerce helps the students to realize their own potential by appreciating their performance and providing them a platform to explore their innate talents by encouraging them to participate in co-curricular, extra-curricular, extension and activities of social responsibility for their overall development. Knowledge is imparted by using an innovative approach towards lectures and complementing class room teaching by organizing workshops, guest lectures and field visits relevant to gaining an elevated understanding of the subject in relation to its practical environment. This provides a learning ambience that challenges the student’s mind through competitive education emphasizing on inculcating values, and transforming them into socially responsible managers and business leaders.
Dedicated to providing quality education in a fully integrated, multi-cultural environment, Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC) has been awarded ‘Asia’s Most Trusted Brand’ in 2016 and 2019 and ‘India’s No. 1 Brand’ in 2016 in Education sector by IBC INFOMEDIA. Faculty of Commerce has the distinct status of being included in the list of ‘Best Colleges’ in the Commerce faculty of the nation in a National Survey conducted by ‘India Today’, a leading magazine; in 2011, 2014 & 2015 and was declared as the ‘3rd Top Emerging Commerce College’ in the country. Faculty of Commerce holds an amazing distinction of organizing two international conferences in collaboration with CIMA-UK, at Sri Lanka in 2017 and at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2019. On one hand, every year the University Top Rankers’ list is populated with the names of Institute’s students, while on the other, winners’ record for various inter-college activities are also filled by students from Institute.
